- Based on Jiu Liu Falin's banned autobiographical novel, Lou Ye's 2011 French-language film Love and Bruises brings the acclaimed Sixth Generation auteur – who was banned from filmmaking in China at the time – to an entirely new environment: the gritty outskirts of Paris. Young teacher Hua (Corinne Yam) recently moved to France from Beijing.
